Watching the television, one would hardly realize that businesses are closing left and right as a result of the greed of a few, and more and more folks are at the end of their ropes as unemployment benefits and extensions run out……right in time for Christmas. I have personally had to lay off over a hundred employees, and will have to lay off the next batch of around 30 on December 21st. As the economy sputters, our venerable POTUS seems ever distant from the reality of the common man, offering nothing more than platitudes and promises, along with his assurances that things will soon get better. Our equally distant Congress is a dysfunctional as ever and will probably accomplish exactly nothing during the lame-duck session as the petty bickering and partisan bullshit continue as before. All of the promises made during the historic election sweep seem to have faded from the memories of our elected ones as the PAC money and lobbyist cash blind them once again.
America seems to be asleep at the wheel as the holidays approach, more worried about being first in line at Target than they are about their government and her irresponsible fiscal policies, which threaten our nations very existence. We are being made the financial slaves of those we used to refer to as third wo4rld nations, as we borrow ever more money from them. That money which cannot be borrowed is simply created out of thin air, making our existing dollars worth that much less. Unfortunately, the MSM casually ignores this little inconvenient fact, believing that our hegemony will never be challenged. It is clear to me however, that at some point these debts will be called in, and when they are they cannot be paid.
I watched in abject amazement as the TSA began their unconstitutional full body “enhanced pat downs” of screaming four year old little girls and old women in wheelchairs at our nations airports recently. It seems that we are all now to be considered criminal terrorists until proven innocent with a virtual strip search, pseudo sexual fully clothed genital rubbing [or both] before getting on our regional carrier for a trip to Disney World. Naturally, the five hundred and thirty five criminals in our Congressional houses will not be subjected to these indignities because as we all know, they are quite above the experience and can be trusted. After all, we trust them with our government…..don’t we? When confronted with the question of constitutionality, Janet Napolitano is quoted as saying “This isn’t about the constitution, it’s about traveler safety”. What? Who the hell is this broad? When did we give up our constitutional right to be protected from unreasonable search and seizure? Was she given a blanket search warrant by her good buddy Eric Holder? This fucking madness has to stop. Now we’re subjecting menstruating women to a full genital grope because the TSA cannot see the naked outlines of her genitals. As a nation, I believe we have finally surrendered to Islam.
On to the European Union. It seems that the idea of a monetary union between multiple states with differing ideas about social services, entitlements, labor ethic etc. was a bad idea after all. It is beginning to look like Germany and her citizens will get to foot the lions share of the bill for bailing out Ireland, who didn’t have the balls to tell the private bankers and their cabal of cronies to go pound salt. Rather than permit a set of private enterprises to go belly up and let the buyers of their bonds take the losses they deserve on their investments, it seems the Irish PM has decided to heap even more misery on his citizenry and make them foot the bill for rescuing them. What the fuck? When is someone going to stand up and demand to know who took the risks that put these banks in over their heads in the first place? Why is it that the debts incurred by private enterprise are being foisted upon those who can least afford to pay for the destruction caused by excessive risk taking, outright fraud and public deception? When did the people of the world [including the USA] vote on this? As I recall, 70 percent of Americans were against the bailouts. Did they listen? No. The Fed simply did what they wanted and the taxpayer be damned. As we all suspected, the big four were at the top of the bailout list, right along with half the banks in Europe. I guess while I was sleeping, they added a codicil to the Code of Federal Regulations that permits our central bank to give taxpayer dollars to foreign entities. We are so completely and irretrievably screwed.
As I ponder the coming year, and the possibilities unfolding around the world, I cannot help but think we may actually see a total monetary collapse, as nation after nation is revealed to be bankrupt as a result of bailing out the top one percent of the top one percent. When preserving the wealth of the ultra wealthy takes precedent over preserving our nation, all is lost.
