I sit here on this fine Thursday afternoon, contemplating what will become of our country when the music stops, and foreign nations decide to cut off the United States. We are now engaged in a great war, one which involves no tanks, no bombs and no bullets. The soldiers in this war are employed by the Federal Reserve, the U.S. Treasury, four or five of the largest U.S. banks and a number of out-sized hedge funds. Their weapons are a printing press, dynamic discussions full of double-speak, innuendo, false promises and statistics. In addition to these weapons, they now have control over the price we pay for our food and who can grow it. In the end, the dumbed down population of docile sheep are convinced that the men in the expensive suits have their best interests at heart, and if it weren’t for them, we would all be in a soup line.
The truth of it is that we have started a two front war; one with our creditors and one with our Citizens. On the first front, we are using the Federal Reserve to flood the earth with so many dollars that our massive and unsustainable debts will never have to be paid in full, and will likely expire worthless. On the second front, they are slowly enslaving the Citizens with ridiculous laws and cumbersome requirements making movement within the country as difficult and uncomfortable as possible, going so far as to treat every single traveler like a felon during a police stop. At the same time, the financial elite have turned the agricultural commodities markets in to a part of their casino, and in doing so, they are literally starving people to death in the name of scratching another buck off of the top for themselves.
Now we are facing a world-wide increase in food prices that has begun to topple governments. Is this what we face in our futures? What does America look like with tens of millions of people unable to afford even the most basic of necessities? Is this when the FEMA camps are activated and those who are without get herded behind fences “for their own safety”?
I do not like the way things are looking, and I dislike the inaction of our congress and POTUS even more. I do not need more platitudes and cheerleading, I need to see fiscal responsibility and a congress that puts aside the petty bullshit and partisan bickering long enough to effect real change. I want to see the rules for purchasing food commodities revert to the rules we had in place before deregulation put them in to the casino and made them fair game for greedy elitists. I want to see real and meaningful change. The change we were promised in the presidential election has not materialized, and never will. The change I seek is fundamental in nature and can only be brought about by popular revolt.
I do not advocate for violent revolution, rather, I look for a movement within society to abandon the old paradigm and demand something better. If enough of us raise our voices and publish our objections to ‘business as usual’, our we will be heard. Until then, expect nothing more than the same old story; free money for the bankers and elites, and nothing for you and I except higher taxes to pay for it all.
